Ten Top “Homemade” Date Ideas for Valentines Day
Are you handy with a crayon and a pencil? How about with a pair of scissors and some glue? Can you bake, or at lease know how to operate the oven toaster?
If you answered yes to the above questions, AWESOME, you can create a valentines date at home!
If you can take a few minutes off your busy schedule from here on out, you can create a homemade gift for your special someone. It doesn’t have to be expensive, as long as it’s something you created. Remember, the most important thing is you’re together during Valentines, while so many couples have split. It’s time to celebrate your coupledom, which is what Valentines really is all about.
Here are some ways to do this…
1. Hang a banner that proclaims your love for him
2. Cook your valentine meal. Don’t go for a complicated dish. Just a simple one (like fried chicken) will do as long as it’s served in Valentines day themed plates.
3. Hot choco or Champagne, you choose.
4. Decorate a mug with glue and red glitters. Decorate another mug if you have the time so that yours matches his.
5. Take an old shirt of yours and transform it into a Valentines costume by writing out a quote with a marker.
6. Steal a handkerchief and embroider it. You can wrap it up and present it to him on Valentines.
7. Lay out a blanket on the floor of your living room to make it a special picnic.
8. Light candles around your living room to set the mood
9. Place some pillows around the edges of the blanket that you laid out to give you something to lean on while watching a show on television.
10. If you’d rather snuggle and talk, you can also turn on soft romantic music to keep the theme of romance going.
The traditional ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day are often forgotten. It’s not the fancy restaurants or the flowers… it’s the fact that you’re spending the day together!
